Where Craftsmanship Begins
Lenardt’s passion for woodworking was forged in the heart of England, where he spent five years living and working, four of those as an apprentice in a traditional carpentry factory. There, he learned the old-world skill of working with solid oak, crafting everything from bespoke doors and staircases to elegant archways and furniture. These early years were where his love for the craft was born, in the scent of sawdust, the weight of hand tools, and the pride of building something that lasts.
Back to South Africa – and Building a Future
Returning home, Lenardt continued honing his skills in various carpentry factories before stepping into a leadership role. As a production manager at a major shop-fitting company, he led a team of over 100 workers, overseeing complex projects and refining his understanding of both the creative and operational sides of the industry.
But in 2020, as the world paused during the COVID-19 pandemic, Lenardt saw an opportunity. With decades of experience behind him and a clear vision for what could be, he founded AURA Building & Design Concepts, a company built on craftsmanship, integrity, and the pursuit of excellence.
